A research is one phrase or one description with every stage: demand, sub-topics, competitors, App Store, community signals, AI analysis and the report. It is counted when you start it, whether the data comes from the sources or from the shared cache, and deleting it does not give it back. Checks added to a finished research and rebuilding its report are free. Failed researches count; automatic retries do not.
